Tuning In To Wigan Life

It's billed as 'the biggest musical and cultural event ever to take place in Wigan Borough'. The Wigan Life series of Tuned-In Concerts at Haigh Hall in July will feature acts including The Saturdays, McFly, Ronan Keating, Alesha Dixon and N-Dubz plus Katherine Jenkins, who will look to follow in the footsteps of bands such as The Verve and make the event a real highlight of the summer. Loaf won the chance to promote the series in a competitive pitch against four other agencies. Loaf were briefed to come up with a name for the event, as well as devise all branding, advertising and online marketing. Georgina Bentley, Marketing Communications Manager at WLCT commented "We have been very impressed with the creative concepts and design work for the Wigan Life Tuned-In Concerts, it perfectly matched our brief".

Reel Times at the Turnpike Gallery

Our latest project for long time Loaf client the Turnpike Gallery should be a real blockbuster. A particularly prestigious exhibition at the gallery will use footage from the Northwest Film Archive to celebrate life at work and home between 1919 and 1970. Loaf have designed all supporting literature for the exhibition and has even got hold of some vintage cinema seats to help visitors get into the mood for a trip down Memory Lane.

A "quack" team

Loaf really does employ a "quack" team of designers. For proof, look no further than our work to promote the first ever Manchester Duck Race. The race took place on the River Irwell as it passes by the Spinningfields business district - a Loaf client - in central Manchester. All proceeds from the Good Friday event go to help the Brainwaves children's charity and we were only too happy to design promotional posters, adshels, large format banners and leaflets to promote the event.

Slick Skin

Think watching your team lose is the most irritating thing in sport? Think again. Slick Skin is a brand new product designed to prevent chaffing, in particular among athletes and cyclists. It comes in the form of a spray and Loaf were tasked to produce all product branding and packaging. The new product will be available in specialist sports shops soon. Maybe a much needed buy for all those partaking in the Manchester 10k Run in May.

Fresh new Loaf brand and website

Loaf has completed a rebranding exercise of its own and has also developed a brand new website. Our new branding matches our belief that design, craft and innovative ideas play an essential part in informing people about what a company stands for. It helps us by communicating the way we think and work to the like-minded companies we want to work with. Dave Mullen, Creative Director at Loaf, says, "After five years of our old brand, it was time for a change. Our clients have changed and we needed to reflect the outlook of the people we work with now and those people we'd like to work with in the future." Speaking about the new Loaf Creative website, he adds, "Our online presence needed to showcase our best work and the new design does this brilliantly and effectively. It also needed to emphasise how we are pushing digital media within the north west and further afield."
